Mi Luz began with water and light.
Mi luz โ "my light" in Spanish. The name holds what the brand is: a small, steady source of warmth you can return to when you need it. Like sunlight on water. Like a deep breath on a hard day.
I built this brand to be the quiet room I always wished I could find โ a place that meets you where you are, without rushing, fixing, or demanding you be anywhere else.
How I got here
I grew up in the mountains of Colorado, which is to say: I was raised near stillness. Surrounded by forest, alpine lakes, and the kind of quiet you only find at altitude. Nature was my first teacher, and in many ways, it still is.
My interest in holistic healing started young โ long before I had a name for it. I was drawn to traditions that treated the body and mind as one thing, not two. Traditions that spoke in seasons and cycles rather than symptoms and prescriptions. Eastern medicine, folk herbalism, the wisdom carried in grandmothers' kitchens โ these shaped how I think about care.
Years of study followed. I became a certified herbalist in 2020, and I've continued deepening that practice ever since โ most recently, working toward holistic life coaching credentials. What began as self-healing, slowly and carefully, became a calling to offer steadiness to others.
Mi Luz is the expression of that calling.
Why a soft launch
While herbal remedies are at the heart of Mi Luz Apotheca, I chose to begin with a soft launch through print-on-demand products rather than starting immediately with tinctures. This decision was made with care, responsibility, and long-term sustainability in mind.
Launching slowly allows me to build Mi Luz intentionally โ prioritizing safety, accessibility, and community support while laying the proper foundation to offer herbal products responsibly in the future. These early offerings, like stickers and wearable reminders, are designed to support mental and emotional well-being in gentle, approachable ways, meeting people where they are right now.
As Mi Luz grows, so will its offerings. My vision has always included herbal remedies, teas, and holistic services โ and this soft launch is simply the first step in that journey. By starting here, I'm able to nurture the business with the same patience, care, and respect that holistic healing itself requires.
